Formed in November 2001, Cooker is a three-piece band hailing from Los Angeles, California. Performing over 85 live shows in 2003-2004, Cooker has developed a unique chemistry, producing a sound which is truly their own. Cooker has appeared alongside bands such as Fear, Down by Law, Dr. Know, Greg Ginn and Ignite. With one full-length LP, ‘Since 2001’ and one EP, ‘Shocking and Awful’ (released on the bands own Weedline Records) Songs from the first two releases, “Since 2001”, and “Shocking And Awful”, have been featured on various compilations such as Falcom Records 'Global Punk Vol. 1', and Skratch Magazine’s 'What’d You Expect For Free Vol. 16'. Cooker has been reviewed in Skratch and Varla Magazines and interviewed in the November 2003 issue of Destroy All Monthly. Songs from the “Since 2001" LP have been featured in Playboy’s 'Extreme Playmate Sports' Video. Cooker is currently in the studio working on another full length LP to be released in early 2005. Their thought provoking lyrics are coupled with musical styling that ranges from hard-hitting, aggressive punk rock to more melodic themed songs. The upcoming release captures their raw energy and should prove to be the most accurate representation to date, of the dynamic live performances that Cooker has best become known for.
